🌿 Gender Justice
Empowering Women Through Sustainable Livelihoods
In hill regions, women play a central role in agriculture, household management, and rural economies. However, traditional farming systems often place heavy labor burdens on women while offering limited economic returns.
Dhar Kshetriya Vikas Sansthan (DKVS) promotes gender-inclusive agricultural development by strengthening women’s participation in high-value crop cultivation and local livelihood systems.
Women in Farmer Clusters
DKVS has organized 9151+ farmers across 255 villages, including a significant number of women farmers actively engaged in aromatic and medicinal crop cultivation.
Women are involved in:
- Plantation and nursery management
- Harvesting and grading
- Value addition activities
- Cluster-level coordination
This strengthens their economic role within families and communities.
Reducing Drudgery Through Mechanization
Traditional hill farming is labor-intensive and physically demanding, especially for women.
DKVS promotes:
- Power weeders
- Earth augers
- Mulching systems
